I have discovered that using poison for rabbit control is not as easy as I first imagined. Encouraging them to eat the bait when they have surplus other options available to them takes a few tricks, firstly ensuring the rabbits have got use to my bait stations in their area – this can take a week or two before they are confident to approach and feed from them, Secondly the placement of the bait station is important, they prefer very short grass and i also tend to scratch the dirt around the bait station too. Finally making sure when they start to eat the bait that I keeping it full as they need multiple feeds to get the desired result.
I am sure there are plenty of other tricks people use and I would love to hear about them, please share on here so we can all benefit.
